Initial Ideas...

Going on what i have already been presented with in these videos, i think it is appropriate to jot down some ideas.

The scene i particularly like is the flash at looking at David Bowie in a sort of Agent Smith (matrix) type fashion, with the hat and glasses. This is a complete reinvention of his character but still keeping that mystical charm. This way he is hidden from Sarah until he is ready to be revealed. As if he is walking around in our world now, not just a fantasy world. This is real life. For those who grew up with the story, the story has now grown up with us into something a lot more realistic and believable. Both trailers, with what i must note as fantastic soundtracks, give me the feeling of a Harry Potter type idea. The way that Harry Potter discusses magical issues in a human reality. That nothing seems too fake. Believable.

Unfortunately with the loss of Jim Henson the goblin puppets etc are going to be hard to replicate/get hold of, but i think this works in our favour. In the real world, away from the goblin kingdom, there are real issues. She can have flash backs sure, but this is deeper.

I feel that the story must start of when sarah is at least 10 years older. She needs to be secure to contrast with the revelations in the story.

WHY?

The reason for writing this blog has purely come from a late internet browse on youtube where i discovered a few trailers for this exact thing. Thinking at first that they were real i nearly, excuse the language, pead my pants.

After researching a little further, i found this not to be the case and the dissapointment was great.Having been a fan of the original Labyrinth film, as long as i can remember, i feel it is a shame that a sequel has yet to be made.

This, i can understand, would have to be a sequel that not only avoided tainting the already perfect, gleaming, reputation of the original but would also have to bring things into the modern world, using modern technology and animation. I think this can be done!
